Judy Howard
Since 1976, Judy Howard has
owned and operated Buckboard Quilts in Oklahoma
City. Her mail order business offers photos of 200
antique quilts. You can visit Judy’s Website to view her online inventory of
quality quilts at affordable prices. www.BuckboardQuilts.com.
After graduating in 1966 with honors from Oklahoma
Baptist University
and doing graduate work at Oklahoma
State University,
Judy and her husband Bill purchased and operated Howard Equipment Company for
ten years. Then, quilting won her heart!
Heavenly Patchwork I and II and Centennial Stitches were
awarded the Golden Seal as official Oklahoma Centennial Book Projects. Both Heavenly
Patchwork I and II received Best Non Fiction Book in OWFI Regional
Contest.
Judy now presents “Under the Covers with Granny” quilt trunk show programs with
story telling, which includes 50 quilts dating back to 1837. She also sponsored
the Oklahoma Centennial Quilt Contest for children and adults and offered the
collection of eighty-five winning twenty-two inch quilts as a traveling
exhibit. Centennial Stitches—Oklahoma
History in Quilts is the resulting full-color, coffee-table
book. See www.HeavenlyPatchwork.com.
Judy currently is sponsoring
the God Bless America Patriotic Quilt Exhibits that are available for
$100 for a four day rental (free to military and veteran groups) with all
profits going to provide quilts for wounded soldiers and families of the
fallen. See Judy’s latest full-color book, Thanking our Troops--God Bless
America Touring Quilts, exhibits and program photos, calendar, entry,
and rental forms on www.HeavenlyPatchwork.com.
From the author: All book and rental profits go to non-profit groups that provide quilts for
wounded soldiers and the families of the fallen—all those most in need of the
touch of God’s love and comfort that quilts represent.
